The Flaw in Genetic Test for Breast Cancer

The widely used Myriad Genetics' genetic test for breast cancer according to a recent study misses detecting some mutations that help cause the disease.
The fact that this genetic test is not designed to detect certain mutations has been known to experts. So that women who tested negative but has strong family history of cancer are being advised for more frequent screening in order to catch the cancer at the early stage. Even with surmounting findings on different strategies to treat cancer, most treatments are more effective at early detection.
The study evaluating the genetic test for best cancer that is being published in The Journal of the american medical association will more likely put pressure on Myriad Genetics.
