Filed in archive Cases , Studies by Gloria Gamat on August 02, 2007

Men who smoke put themselves in an increased risk of erectile dysfunction. In addition, the more cigarettes you smoke, the greater the risk is.
Such were the findings of Tulane University researchers.
As published in the American Journal of Epidemiology:
The team found that there was a significant statistical link between the number of cigarettes that men smokedand the likelihood they would experience erectile dysfunction.
The association between smoking and erectile dysfunction was even stronger in participants with diabetes.
An estimated 22.7 percent of erectile dysfunction cases among Chinese men might be attributable to cigarette smoking.
Erectile dysfunction compromises a man's well being and quality of life. This finding suggests that smoking prevention should be an important approach for reducing the risk of erectile dysfunction.
