Quaid Twins, In Recovery

Filed in archive Cases , Kid's Health , News by Gloria Gamat on November 24, 2007

Dennis Quaid used to be married to Meg Ryan right? They looked good together. But then who can rally blame Meg Ryan if she wasn't able to resist the charm of gladiatorlinks-hunk Russell Crowe?

Actually he used to be one of my favourite in couples of movies (Innerspace, Parent Trap, The Rookie, In Good Comapany and Yours, Mine and Ours) that I've seen him in. I love Dennis Quaid's trademark laugh line, that and him being Texan (there's a very distinct rugged-handsome-cowboyish X-factor). Besides, he alone has that grin.

But then this isn't The Celebrities Weblog. Dennis Quaid was in the news lately because of the medical mishap that his twins were in recently.

The two-week-old twins of actor Dennis Quaid were recovering in a Los Angeles hospital on Wednesday after mistakenly being given a massive overdose of a blood thinning drug.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, one of the United States' leading hospitals, apologized on Wednesday for what it called the "preventable error" that led to the twins and another unidentified child being given 10,000 units of the anti-coagulant Heparin, instead of the normal 10 units given to babies.

The Quaid twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace, were born via a surrogate mother on November 8.
A publicist for Quaid and his wife Kimberley Buffington said the couple "appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers, and hope they can maintain their privacy during this difficult time."

Sad and horrible. Especially that such error can happen to celebrities as well.
