Mumps Outbreak in US Midwest

As reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the mumps outbreak in the US Midwest is now already in 8 states. The eight state is not yet revealed but the others are Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
The CDC is looking into the possibility that airlines are the possible source of the outbreak which is the largest in the US in 20 years.
Though not as contagious as influenza, mumps is caused by a virus and is spread by coughing and sneezing. There is no treatment for mumps but the best protection is a vaccine.

I spent a long weekend out-of-town and got the mumps. I got home Sunday with a hard, painful swelling under my right ear.
