The findings of this research team (which has members from Johns Hopkins University, University of Minnesota, University of Southern California and University of California-Irvine
) will help to develop new drugs in treatment and prevention of memory loss in dementia patients. Moreover, once this memory-robbing protein complex is better understood, drugs could also be developed to cure Alzheimer's disease.
This is definitely good news to both dementia and Alzheimer's patients.
