memory loss compound, now identified
Filed in archive News , Studies on March 15, 2006
Scientists, now for the first time have identified the compound (a protein complex) responsible for memory loss.
The findings of this research team (which has members from Johns Hopkins University, University of Minnesota, University of Southern California and University of California-Irvine) will help to develop new drugs in treatment and prevention of memory loss in dementia patients.
Moreover, once this memory-robbing protein complex is better understood, drugs could also be developed to cure Alzheimer's disease.
This is definitely good news to both dementia and Alzheimer's patients.

Dr. Deb,
indeed it is great to look into the future when memory loss can be fixed by a pill or a vaccine.
