Low Carb Diet May Improve Cholesterol Levels

The low carb diet like the once popular Atkins diet have lost its appeal to the public when critics and experts said that following this regimen puts followers at a higher risk of clogged arteries and heart attack in the long-term.
However, a new clinical trial in the U.S. reported in the May issue of The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Vol. 83, pp. 989-990), suggests to reconsider the low carb diet as it induces more favorable cholesterol profile, even if there is no weight loss.
