How To Keep Kids Healthy This Summer

This summer many parents are nervous about keeping kids healthy, especially with the threat of Swine Flu spreading.

Whether at camp or just the neighborhood pool or playground keeping kids healthy is always a concern. The Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) just reported that Swine flu has affected the start of at least two jewish-sponsored camps in the United States.

Camp Newman-Swig in Santa Rosa, California delayed its opening after some staff came down with the flu, j, the Jewish news weekly of Northern California reported.

Several days before the start of camp some 14 of 160 staff members tested positive for Influenza A and the California Health Department advised camp administrators that those counselors most likely have swine flu. Rabbi Elliot Kleinmen of the Union of Reform Judaism told the newspaper. The affected staff members are under a seven-day quarantine at the camp.

The camp decided to postpone Wednesday's opening of the camp on Tuesday evening.
