Green Oats for Mental Health
Filed in archive Treatment on May 17, 2006
In the 12th century, it has been reported that green oat is a mood enhancer, contributes to a clear, sharp mind and has strength building benefits in cases of chronic fatigue. At present, oats are more commonly associated with heart health and considered a slow release carbohydrate that can help keep sugar levels at a steady.
However, the Israeli company Frutarom used modern science to support the efficacy of green oats used in the Middle Ages and just recently introduced EFLA955 Wild Green Oat Neuravena Special Extract.
This new extract which Frutarom initially announced in January 2006 can provide positioning opportunities in the areas of cognitive support, concentration enhancement, stress and burnout, chronic fatigue, mood balance and nerve strengthening.
While there are already existing green oat extracts in the market, Frutarom selected the variety of wild oat (Avena sativa L.) and developed the extract through a bioguided assay, a specific in vitro systems supporting traditional indications scientifically.
