By eating slower, the "satiety factor" is reached with less food.
Darn. How do we do that? I for one, tend to eat faster when I'm eating the food I like.
The National Institutes of Health and a growing body of scientific evidences agree that rapid eating is a root cause of excess caloric intake:
"Changing the way you go about eating can make it easier to eat less without feeling deprived. If you slow down, your brain gets the fullness message before you outpace your body's built in defense mechanism against overeating.
Okay, that I think is scientifically valid. But I guess one's lifestyle has everything to do with eating slower. In our busyness in this day and age, we seem to not have all the time in the world to dilly-dally on the few minutes we get to steal to eat.
