Do-it-yourself PAP smear

Someone has invented a do-it-yourself PAP smear:
Women may soon be able to carry out their own test for cervical cancer at home. A British designer has developed a kit that can be used without the need for medical help . . .
. . . Now industrialdesigner Maja Kecman has, with the help of doctors, invented a test device that could ensure such women don't fall through the diagnosis net.
Maja, 29, a graduate in Industrial Design Engineering from the Royal College of Arts, says she had wanted to design something to benefit other women.
"Many women say they do not want smear tests because they don't like them," she says.
"I think this will encourage more screening and, as a result, lead to fewer cancers."
