Dana Reeve has been diagnosed with lung cancer at age 44

The widow if Christopher Reeve has been diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 44. She was a non-smoker, however had been exposed to second-hand smoke during her career as a singer.
Adenocarcinoma is the most frequent type of lung cancer associated with non-smokers. The five-year survival for a resected adenocarcinoma is approximately 30 to 40 percent. ("Dana Reeve, Non-Smoker, Diagnosed with Lung Cancer", ABC News, Aug.9)
