Clinical Hypnotherapy Helps Cancer Patients
Filed in archive Treatment on April 24, 2006
UK's The Herald reported that as a part of the scheme to help cancer sufferers relax, hypnotism is being used in patients at a Scots hospital.
Clinical hypnotherapy was used instead of anaesthetic during a hernia operation and is now being offered in the the blood cancer ward at Gartnavel general hospital in Glasgow. This project began in October and is expected to continue indefinitely.
Along with clinical hypnotherapy, Reiki (a Japanese technique in stress reduction) and massage is being offered at Gartnavel's 18-bed ward.
