American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) Released 2006 Guidelines for Liposuction Surgery

The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) recently released its 2006 Guidelines for Liposuction Surgery.
While liposuction remains to be the one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures, these guidelines will serve as recommendations for Physicians, confronting the most important issues in liposuction surgery today.
The 2006 Guidelines for Liposuction Surgery includes the following new key points:
¢Information on anesthesia and research showing that tumescent anesthesia is safer for patients than general anesthesia alone.
¢A statement on advances in laser light technologies and the importance of physicians to stay up-to-date on new techniques and to acquire proper training on these.
